NATCA has become aware that the Agency is issuing Version 8 PIV cards to new employees and employees who get replacement PIV cards. The Version 8 PIV cards are not compatible with the McAfee Drive Encryption software that the Agency uses. In order to address this issue, the Agency's Security and Hazardous Materials Safety Office (ASH) provides a list on a daily basis to the Information and Technology Services Office (AIT) of employees with Version 8 PIV cards. AIT then adds these employees to an exemption group so they are not required to use their PIV cards to log into McAfee; rather, they are provided a username and password to log into McAfee. This issue will be resolved completely after the Agency deploys Windows 10 to NATCA bargaining unit employees (BUEs) because Windows 10 includes its own encryption system. However, the Windows 10 deployment schedule for NATCA BUEs is still unknown. The issue regarding compatibility between the Version 8 PIV cards and McAfee Drive Encryption software is most likely to impact BUEs in Region X because they use Agency-provided computers. However, it could also have an effect on Air Traffic Controllers, Traffic Management Coordinators, and other BUEs who may need to use an Agency-provided computer while on a temporary detail, or to perform other work assignments. NATCA will continue to collaboratively address with the Agency any impacts to our bargaining units due to the Version 8 PIV cards. POCs: PIV Workgroup Member Russell Davis, PIV Workgroup Member Mark Dillon, and Labor Relations Attorney Grant Mulkey FAA TRAVEL CARD UPDATE The FAA has announced a delay in the transition to the new travel card provider. The new date is Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, meaning new US Bank travel cards will not be available for use until Dec. 21, 2018. New US Bank card information will be automatically loaded into the travel system, E2 Solutions (E2). Employees will not be required to update their profiles, and reservations already booked using JPMorgan Chase travel cards for travel on or after Dec. 21, 2018, will be automatically updated with the new US Bank travel card information. In addition, the Agency sent out an announcement about "Split Pay" functionality, which will be unavailable in E2 starting Nov. 16, 2018 at 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST), due to the upcoming travel charge card transition to US Bank. Split Pay allows cardholders to "split" voucher reimbursements between the TCC service provider (e.g., JPMorgan Chase) and their personal bank account. Split Pay will be disabled temporarily to prevent payment to the wrong TCC vendor. The FAA sent out the following announcement regarding the delay: What is happening? The travel card contract with JPMorgan Chase expires at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Dec. 20, 2018. Beginning Dec. 21, 2018, you will no longer be able to use your JPMorgan Chase travel card and will need to begin using the new US Bank travel card for official government travel.
