The Denver Metroplex team worked diligently to get the project back on timelines following the government shutdown. After initial meetings with local facilities and environmental staff it was determined that the planed implementation for March 26, 2020, was still feasible. The team has worked over the last month to adjust the proposed procedures based upon criteria changes and Environmental Assessment (EA) feedback. These adjustments were made in time to be incorporated in the upcoming draft EA. Work has begun to prepare necessary material and gather resources to support the upcoming draft EA workshops taking place in late April and May. Significant work will take place over the next few weeks to be fully prepared for these. The facilities have been evaluating current resources and those that will be needed as they prepare for implementation. They have also continued to work on the TBFM adaptation and runway usage plan in preparation for implementation requirements. Las Vegas Metroplex submitted by Submitted by Chris Thomas, LAS Metroplex Co-Lead During the month of February: • The Vegas Core team regrouped the first week of February, following the government shutdown, to discuss shutdown impacts and possible slippage due to the delays. • We finally got approval from HQ to resume our normal meeting schedule the week of Feb. 19. The team met with POCs from ZLA, LAS, and L30 to create a new project schedule and identify any possible issues that may have developed due to the shutdown. • We were informed by our environmental contractor that our February due date to submit our designs could be extended to the end of May. This allowed us to adjust our schedule in order to stay on track for a May 2020 implementation date. During the month of March: • The Core team met in Las Vegas with facility POCs and SMEs to review design packages. • The Core team and facility POCs met with BridgeNet to review presentation materials for upcoming public outreach meetings. • The Core team and facility POCs and SMEs met with industry to review design changes made following the HITLs. • The Core team and facility POCs and SMEs had a telcon with National Park Service to discuss final designs that may impact their facilities around the Las Vegas Valley. Ongoing Project Issues: • Facility Staffing and Support o L30 is currently below their goal number for CPCs and are working an extensive amount of operational overtime. Due to the restructure with the new terminal, GMs L30/LAS are very short-staffed in their support offices, particularly for L30 in their support of training and airspace. The L30 FacRep has expressed concern as to how we can implement our project. We need to work with facility leadership to explore options for help during the implementation phase, i.e., finding outside help to develop ETG problems and new map development (currently no one in the facility has knowledge with AT Coach or problem development), as well as, help will be needed developing new training material.
