the same data and accuracy to the surface surveillance systems. Over the next year, analysis will determine if this is achievable. ASEPS (Space-based ADS-B) - • Space based ADS-B activities have started in ZMA. The team is currently working with ZMA and neighboring facilities regarding SOPs and LOAs. Space- based ADS-B will be used in Sectors 62 and 63 of ZMA. This is going to be the proving ground for Space based ADS-B in the NAS. This will also greatly help the facility when they lose the Grand Turk radar. ZSU is also going to play an integral part in the success of this program. • An SRMP was successful at ZSU on Oct. 31 to solidify a new LOA between ZMA and ZSU to support the upcoming SBA (Space-based ADS-B) efforts for the Caribbean. • SBA IOC for the Caribbean is on schedule for March of 2020. • Discussions are ongoing with the Agency about integrating Space-based ADS-B into ATOP. The SBA team and ATOP team are collaborating on these efforts. ASSC - • PDX IOC was achieved on Nov. 21. • ANC CADRE training is complete. ANC field familiarization to start in February. • ANC and ADW will be the last two facilities to receive ASSC. • There are discussions happening with the Agency on deploying surface surveillance to facilities that currently have nothing. AJI, and AJT have voiced a need moving forward. As this conversation continues, NATCA will remain actively involved. • Now that our terrestrial ADS-B infrastructure is deployed and the 2020 mandate is approaching, there are ongoing discussions about the desire to stop supporting MLAT on the Surface. ADS-B radios input to ASDE-X and ASSC offer the same data and accuracy to the surface surveillance systems. Over the next year, analysis will determine if this is achievable. • A safety panel was completed for ADW on Dec. 4. The ADW system will deploy with Surface Movement Radar, Airport Surveillance Radar, and ADS-B. MEARTS Fusion - • All MEARTS facilities continue to operate in FUSION mode with no reported issues. Interval Management/ADS-B In - • Equip2020 was held the week of Dec. 2. This was the last time the group met prior to the Jan 2020 mandate. Many within the group, particularly Working Group 4, are concerned that with Equip2020 sunsetting, there will no longer be a forum where the Agency and industry can meet to discuss ADS-B In topics. The NAC will be briefed on this in the near future. • A meeting was held the week of Dec. 2 with STARS SE2, TSAS, and IM to discuss program integration with each other as well as possible deployment strategies.
