The TSAS subgroup of the Team traveled to the Tech Center this week for TSAS testing. This is a continuing effort (at least once per month) to test the TSAS system in the NexGen (ANG) lab from an operational perspective. As such, we bring in SMEs from not only D01 (which will be the first TSAS site), but a couple of other facilities to run scenarios utilizing TSAS tools. The purpose of this is to gain as much feedback as we can and start the process as early as we can to fix issues that are found during this testing. Moving forward, SMEs from A80 will start attending some of these testing activities as well as representatives from the Terminal CHI group. January 20-26, 2020 Update AIRSPACE Josh Haviland (S46) is the Article 114 National Airspace Rep. The current projects and work continue to move forward in the East. The current projects being worked are TDG VOR MON, BOS Massport/MIT, NEC ACR, and ZBW VOR MON. Joey Tinsley NATCA PBN Co-Lead East - The TDG VOR MON project is still on track and was published Jan. 30. The corresponding Victor Routes are scheduled for removal on May 21, 2020 and early 2021.The BOS Massport/MIT SIDs were submitted in December for a possible May 21 publication as well. The procedures were turned in a few weeks late and it was up to the RA (Regional Administrator) to see if they wanted to push these SIDs to be published on a shortened time frame. We received notification that the RA would like these SIDs published on May 21, but the communication never filtered through the appropriate offices. A90 and ZBW don't desire for a summer publication of these SIDs so we will have to work on a different date if the May 21 date slips. For the NEC ACR (Northeast Corridor Atlantic Coast Route) project, the removal of the Jet Routes on Jan. 30 within ZMA, ZJX and ZTL occurred. All of the J-Routes scheduled for removal were NOTAM'd out on Dec. 5, 2019. The facilities did a fantastic job getting the users on the correct route in preparation for the Jan. 30 removal. The NEC ACR team has also been at ZDC running Sims to determine the appropriate TMI (Traffic Management Initiatives) needed for the main implementation on Nov. 5, 2020. The Sims have been very beneficial to see what will be safe for controllers on day one and to pull data to present to the users. We will begin briefing these TMI plans to the various user groups on Feb. 12. The schedule through May 2020 has really filled up with meetings to ensure facilities are ready for all the upcoming implementations along with scheduling meetings with various user groups to ensure everyone knows the details of the project. The ZBW VOR MON project has been put on hold with the exception of four T-routes being published on Sept. 10, 2020.
