Background: The safe integration of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) into the NAS is an ongoing process that continually evolves with rapidly changing technological advancements. UAS integration will require new laws, policies, practices, procedures, and standards. All of these changes are taking place concurrent to the advances in the capabilities of UAS proponents. UAS integration is a long-term project that will grow as the system adjusts to the new entrants introduced daily. Following the successful December local SRMPs for Recreational UAS Operations above 400' and the first four local sites, additional sites are being vetted for more local SRM panels. On-going project work is being conducted on a UAS Point of Contact Workshop that is in development for the field. Additional work on a UAS incident checklist is finishing up. Changes to the UAS order are being vetted for content and comment collection. The findings of the Lost Link Workgroup have been briefed to the joint sponsors and are in discussion for next steps. The UAS Leadership Team (ULT) is working through three new taskings that they have been assigned. These taskings are regarding enhancements to FAA Drone Zone, UAS common talking points, and UAS incident reporting. As these taskings unfold they will be closely monitored for impact to BUEs. In late December, a National Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) document was released to the Federal Register proposing new regulations for UAS Remote Identification (RID). RID is an important foundation for the future of UAS Traffic Management (UTM), Urban Air Mobility (UAM), and the continued safe integration of UAS into the NAS. The NPRM
