WEEKLY UPDATES FROM FAA ATO COO TERI BRISTOL We Invited Ken Jennings to the ATO Forum, But He Was Tied Up Hi everyone, The recent Jeopardy tournament was fun to watch because we could marvel not only at the breadth of knowledge of the game's greatest players, but also how they played under pressure and still clearly had a good time. When I look back at the past year and consider all we accomplished in the ATO, some of the same reasons make me really proud of the way our team performed – your knowledge and expertise, your ability to execute under pressure and your willingness to support one another to get the job done. It takes all of us working together to deliver safe services every day. We highlighted a number of our accomplishments this week at the ATO Forum, things like new initiatives on surface safety, surveillance and commercial space, our transformation of aeronautical information, and our national training emphasis. We also looked ahead to some of our upcoming challenges, such as maximizing NextGen capabilities, finding a way to integrate drones safely and looking for new solutions to persistent concerns like our Top Five safety issues. All of these fit into our goal of continuous improvement. If you didn't have a chance to tune in to the Forum live, you can tune in here: [VIDEO LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmeXc0xZX9c] We also answered a lot of questions that members of the ATO have been asking about compensation, future technology and organizational changes. As much as possible, we like to address what's on your mind. Another way you can let us know what you're thinking is by taking part in the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey, or FedView, this spring. FedView is a tool that the ATO Officers Group, and FAA leadership, review thoroughly and assess for ways to improve and make the FAA a better place to work. It's so important that we get your feedback. In last year's survey, you said that some areas that are working well include that your supervisor treats you with respect and that the goals and priorities of the organization are communicated. You said that you are willing to put in extra effort to get the job done and looking for ways to do your job better. You said that we need to improve the way we link pay raises and other recognition with levels of performance. Generating high levels of workforce motivation and commitment and maintaining high standards of honesty and integrity are leadership challenges.
