and training and resolve the upcoming end-of-life issues we have with our current IDSs in the field (IDS-4, ERIDS, etc.). Current domains without an IDS will also be addressed (Oceanic, Alaska FSS, etc.). The project is working through the vendor bid process, with a contract scheduled to be awarded in 2020. Final Investment Decision (FID) is expected late spring/early summer 2020. Three phases of implementation are planned, beginning in 2023, and ending in 2030. The Safety panel for E-IDS was conducted in early November. The facilitator completed the Draft Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) and provided the document to the team for review in mid-December. The E-IDS NATCA SME team reviewed the draft PHA together during the last working session of the year and provided feedback to the safety facilitator and the other safety panel members. Any additional working sessions required were identified and scheduled for January. A final safety document is scheduled to be published by early February. The initial Data Administrator SME Working Group meeting was conducted in November and will resume in 2020. The early December SME Working Group meeting focused on Use Case development, Human Factors, and discussions around expected system behaviors. The second December meeting was reserved for the PHA safety review. Meetings resumed in mid-January. E-IDS team members at HQ are currently working through the acquisitions process to determine which vendor is awarded the E-IDS contract. Contract award is expected in mid-2020. Due to the sensitive nature of this phase of the project, very limited updates are available for dissemination. Most of the holiday season was spent in the operation at ZOA to help with staffing during the high leave usage period. Many of the HQ personnel on the team were on leave during this time. Upcoming activities: • Weekly/bi-weekly Program Status and Systems Engineering telcons (ongoing). • E-IDS Working Group meetings (ongoing- formerly HF, ITT sessions). • Bi-weekly Risk Board telcons (ongoing). • Weekly check-in with Program Manager (ongoing). • E-IDS Weather Working Group telcons (ongoing). • NATCA Safety & Technology department telcons (beginning in January). • Meetings with other programs to discuss potential overlaps and impacts are occurring as needed. INTEGRATED DISPLAY SYSTEM REPLACEMENT (IDS-R) Richie Smith (N90) is the Article 114 Rep for the IDS-R project. Recent issues in the SCT network have prompted the FAA and NIDS (IDSR) vendor to dig very deeply into the network. Most of the issues can be traced to data transfer speeds on network lines and the settings on switches throughout the network.
