wanted to get as close to the runway as
possible for the best possible outcome."
While on their third attempt at the
approach, William issued ASTRA81
mileage from the airport every few miles
to aid the ight crew in maintaining their
descent pro le. ankfully, ASTRA81
was able to land. During a post-landing
phone call, the pilot revealed that their
IFR equipment was not functional,
and they had only 12.8 minutes of fuel
remaining. ey were unsure if they
would have been able to make another
approach attempt.
