OVERVIEW 10 NiW Today NATCA in Washington 2026 National Legislative Committee State Coordinator Facility Legislative Representative Member Activist Eligibility They must be a NATCA member in good standing. They should show leadership capabilities, be organized, and be enthusiastic about the legislative process. Appointment They are appointed by their Regional Vice President (RVP). Responsibilities They are the point of contact for all political and legislative activity within their state. They ensure a NATCA relationship with every member of Congress in their state. They serve as conduit through which the local legislative activity flows back up to the NLC. Eligibility They must be a NATCA member in good standing. As the facility legislative representative, they report to their FacRep and e-board. Appointment They are appointed by their FacRep, unless the local constitution designates it as an elected position. Responsibilities They are the local point person for NATCA members with facility issues and an important contact for NATCA-wide issues. They ensure grassroots initiatives are acted upon. They maintain a high level of knowledge pertaining to NATCA's legislative agenda, current political candidates, and pertinent Congressional legislation. Eligibility They must be a NATCA member in good standing. They are a constituent, the most important person on our legislative team. They are the message carrier and the subject matter expert. All of us meet this description and can be member activists. Appointment Anyone who wants to get involved can be a member activist! Check with your state coordinator or NLC member to find out how. Responsibilities They are the backbone of our legislative strength. These members take time to become involved, develop relationships with members of Congress and their staffs, and participate in grassroots efforts.
