9 GREAT LAKES GREAT LAKES REGION REGION When N7291F finally emerged beneath the clouds, the pilot reported visual contact with the ground but advised controllers that fuel reserves were becoming a concern. The team immediately transitioned to the next phase of the emergency, providing vectors to University Park Airport (UNV) and guiding the pilot to a safe landing. At approximately 1:00 p.m., after nearly an hour of coordinated effort, N7291F landed safely. The safe outcome was the direct result of outstanding teamwork, decisive leadership, constant coordination, and unwavering professionalism. While Hill communicated with the pilot, Jones, Bremer, and Flanum ensured the surrounding operation remained safe and provided the support needed to guide an inexperienced pilot through instrument meteorological conditions. Their actions exemplify the highest standards of air traffic control and reflect the dedication and excellence recognized by the Archie League Medal of Safety Awards. Congratulations to the 2026 Great Lakes Region Archie League Medal of Safety Award recipients: Rachel Bremer, Tyler Flanum, Andrew Hill, and Ryan Jones!
