AUS NATCA TAMR Rep Matt Sheffield and PASS Lead Phil Nicholson The transition to a STARS TCW in Austin Successful STARS installation at AUS 21 NextGen Now | Winter 2014 He continued, "The OSF specialists are a little-known but amazingly important segment of our NATCA membership and they are really showing everyone how important they are to the success of the program." NATCA's Jill Carr (TPA) and Anthony Loguidice (ABE) were the Transition SMEs for the Austin and Billings transitions. Both provided knowledge of STARS for controllers as they both have STARS in their home facilities. Their knowledge helps maintain confidence during the initial stages of using the new system. "What an inspiration it is to be part of bringing a new system to life in an air traffic control facility," said Carr. Anthony agreed and added, "The excitement of the entire building seeing their facility modernized and becoming NextGen capable is palpable." In calendar year 2015, the TAMR program is slated to implement STARS at multiple facilities including RSW, NCT, MAF, A80, M98, EVV, MDT, SAV, SGF, FAT, SDF, SCT, SBN, LFT, GSO, TYS, and ACY. Because of collaboration, TAMR is poised for a great many deployments over the next several years.
