Airports adapted for TBFM use 23 NextGen Now | Winter 2014 "They can just schedule on a timeline and get the flight into the system." In addition to traveling to sites to deploy TBFM, Owens is also traveling around the country to support all the Metroplex activities. He has visited Cleveland, Fort Worth Center, and Houston to ensure the TBFM adaption is accurate. "When they implement Metroplex procedures it changes all the points in the airspace area," says Owen. "I have to make sure to integrate all the Metroplex changes into the TBFM system." The TBFM workgroup has also been working on the Terminal Sequencing Spacing (TSS) tool because it ties into TBFM. The group is working with NASA Ames Research Center on incorporating TSS into the TBFM operational assessment in May. Owens has also been in Oklahoma City collaboratively developing a training course, ELMS, with the FAA. They are working on the TMC portion of the course, but the controller course for TBFM has been completed and will be released with ELMS. If all goes well, they will have a training course for TMCs in the spring of 2015.
