NATIONAL LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE Andy Lewis has the unique distinction of serving the Eastern Region twice on the NLC. He served on the NLC for over 7.5 years, first joining the commiee in April of 2000 and serving until September 2004. He then rejoined the NLC in October 2011 and served through the end of last year when he retired from the FAA. Andy was legislatively active throughout his career, serving in local, regional, and national capacities. He built and maintained countless congressional relationships in New York and the Eastern Region throughout his years of activism. "Having Andy on the commiee was like having another chair on the commiee," said NLC Chair Steve Weidner. "His experience made him a natural go-to for me. We'll miss his leadership and his activism." Jay Bowers joined the NLC as the New England Region representative in August 2012. He will hand over the reigns in June of this year, having served on the NLC for nearly three years. In addition to his time on the NLC, Jay's years of legislative activism include service as the facility legislative representative for Boston Center, and as a state legislative coordinator for New Hampshire. In addition to being a very active NLC member, Jay organized and aended countless congressional meetings, facility tours, and local events in the New England Region. "Jay took legislative activism in New England to new heights," said NLC Chair Steve Weidner. "His passion, energy, and commitment to the relationship-building process are unparalleled on the commiee. We are going to miss him." The NLC is the cornerstone of NATCA's political and legislative efforts. The dedicated members who make up this commiee commit a substantial amount of time and energy to ensure that NATCA members across the country are represented and heard on Capitol Hill. This year, two amazing NLC members are retiring. Please join NATCA and the NLC in congratulating these tireless guys, and thanking them for their incredible contributions to our Union.
