· A meeting was held earlier this week between the IDSR program office and their upper management to discuss funding for FY16. Meetings o n this subject have been postponed several times but while this meeting actually took place the only thing that was decided was that more information was needed. The program office needs to submit more data for presentation at the Joint Resources Council m eeting set to be held on October 28th. o NATCA has been invited to a meeting to discuss the pending JRC decision on November 3rd. This would seem to mean that a decision will be made by the JRC on that date. o Maybe this is how they are going to save s ome money - a month of inactivity to start off the fiscal year. · A visit to upgrade and update the NIDS software at CID was cancelled last week because of the pending government shut down. This visit will be rescheduled as soon as possible so that CID will be given the latest Operating System and updates that it has been waiting for. · ER4 has been officially distributed and is available for download via the KSN website. · JAX is the latest facility to go IOC on NIDS. That gives the program office 13 IOCs for FY15, besting the projection of 12 IOCs. Maybe this will impress the JRC. · At present there are only two facilities set to be visited for site surveys in FY16 - L30/LAS and TUS. Both of these facilities are getting new to wers. PBI has requested an additional survey due to pending airspace realignment. The PO is a little unsure how to proceed with this request but they will be attending a meeting at PBI the week of October 12th. · Although the waterfall schedule is on hold, facilities that are in the process of having their database constructed should still be forwarding their information to the engineering team. NEXTGEN: Melvin Davis (SCT) leads NATCA's NextGen efforts. Mr. Davis' report for the week is next. · The primary focus of NATCA NextGen recently was representing the union at the 10th Annual FAA Verification and Validation Summit in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
