· The FAA uses an unique Acquisition Management System (AMS) designed
to account for the entire life - cycle of individual programs. The FAA contracts
with vendors from many different companies to deliver equipment and services,
many of which are procured through the AMS.
o The contracts used in AMS have many different Requirements that
specify what the expectation of the FAA is and clarifies for the
vendor, what the measure of success will b e.
o The Verification and Validation (V&V) community ensures that these
individual requirements are clearly defined and are either met or
exceeded.
o NATCA has interacted with the V&V community on many diverse
programs and projects and enjoyed the opportunity to share some
lessons and perspectives gained through those interactions.
