Our Funding Future
Hi everyone. As Fiscal Year 2015 came to a close, concerns over whether the
government would remain open surfaced once agai n. This time, we had to secure a new
budget along with an extension of the FAA's authorization, which is the legislation that
enables us to perform our functions as an agency.
With regard to the budget, Congress has approved a Continuing Resolution, or
CR, to keep the government funded through December 11. The CR came with a small
rescission of .2108%, which means we must operate at slightly less than FY15 funding
levels during this period. Although we have to tighten our belts somewhat, I don't expect
a ma jor impact to the air traffic control operation or other aspects of our mission. Despite
