these funding levels, we're going to move forward with our NextGen efforts as expeditiously as we c an through the first quarter. Along with the CR, Congress approved a short - term extension of our authorization until March 31, 2016. With these actions complete, we can all continue to do our jobs in support of our mission for the time being, at least until December when we wil l need another budget enacted. We will continu e to work toward a longer - term reauthorization that adheres to a few key principles. These include helping us maintain our exceptional safety record, helping us continue to modernize our nation's airspace, enabling the integration of new user entrants into the airspace system, and strengthening America's global leadership in aviation. As I noted in my July message on this topics, there continues to be a discussion on Capitol Hill over proposals to change the structure and governance of the FAA, including pr oposals to corporatize the ATO's duties and move it out of the FAA. The Administration welcomes the opportunity to evaluate these proposals and looks forward to having that discussion with Congress and our stakeholders. We believe, however, that any govern ance - related proposals would need to address the major challenges facing the FAA and its workforce, including funding levels, and funding stability and flexibility, while ensuring that our nation continues to maintain the safest and most efficient airspace system in the world. While we continue to address these issues, let me stress that everyone in the ATO is an important part of our mission. We couldn't do it without you. Let's continue to deliver the world's safest, most efficient airspace system for our nation. Thanks everyone, Teri L.
