Reaffirming Our Purpose for the New Year
Hi everyone. During the holiday season, we ' ve got a lot on our plate: preparing
for personal or family traditions, cooking, tree - assembling, lighting candles, shopping
and wrapping are a few things that come to mind. Through it all, it ' s important to
rem ember why we ' re doing what we ' re doing. In other words, what's the purpose of the
holidays? For many of us, it ' s about seeing family, strengthening our faith, and having
fun. It ' s about getting some rest and relaxation. Knowing our purpose helps us keep
th ings in perspective. We can enjoy everything more, and stress a lot less.
As an organization, it ' s just as important to continually reaffirm our purpose. It ' s
to run the safest, most efficient aerospace system in the world. Everything we ' ve done,
and will do in the new year, is dedicated toward this purpose. I ' m proud to be part of an
organization that is dedicated to driving down safety risk, putting NextGen in place, and
playing a central role in global aviation. I ' m proud to be part of an organization th at runs
a safe, efficient air traffic system 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
On that note, I want to thank those of you who will be working on the holidays.
Because of you, the light of our airspace system continues to shine.
