In 2013, sequestration budget cuts forced the FAA to shut down all hiring
and training of new controllers for 10 months. That can't happen again in
light of the current severe shortage.
3. We look forward to reviewing what the House Transportation and
Infrastructure Committee proposes for FAA reauthorization. Again, we
hope it will provide long - term solutions to these problems.

Charlotte NextGen Media Event: We held a collaborative media event with the
FAA on Jan. 8 in Charlotte about successful NextGen programs. NATCA NextGen
Project Management Organization Representative Jeff Woods was our main speaker,
joining FAA Assistant Administrator for NextGen Ed Bolton among other representatives
from various stakeholders. CLT FacRep Anthony Schifano and CLT member and
NATCA ATD - 2 National Rep. Pete Slattery also participated. Media clips from the event
