currently available for reserving 29 spaces in FAA headquarters. The Agency reported that feedback on the program has been positive. Employees reported that this p ilot reduced employee time in trying to find a conference room because it provides employees with access to all FAA shared spaces in the building. BRIEFING REQUESTS On Jan . 14, 2016 , NATCA requested a briefing on the AIR Flight Test Operations Manual (FTOM) Currency Requirements for Flight Test Engineers (FTEs). On Jan. 14, 2016 , NATCA requested a briefing on Standardized Performance Plans for Personal Property Prima ry Duties and Responsibilities. We are currently waiting for a response from the Agency regarding our request. GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT CONGRESSIONAL SCHEDULE : The House is in recess this week following the Martin Luther King holiday and will return to D.C. on January 25. The Senate is in session for the week starting on Tuesday, January 19. LON G - TERM FAA REAUTHORIZATION : It is being widely reported that the House Transportation & Infrastructure (T&I) Committee is planning a markup of legislation on Thursday , Feb. 11. We do not have any additional details at this time but will keep you updated as soon as we have more information. Ahead of any markup, Chairman Shuster's staff is hoping to release a draft of the FAA Reauthorization bill. As you know, FAA authority is temporarily extended through March 31, 2016 (via H.R. 3614, the Airport and Airway Extension Act of 2015). While Chairman Shuster and Ranking Member DeFazio have stated that they only want one extension for the FAA this time around (which is what we are currently operating under), all indications are that both chambers will not be able t o finalize a bill by March 31. That means that another extension will be necessary, which would most likely be considered in mid - March. Senate Commerce Chairman John Thune is expecting that the House will move first, and then the Senate will act on its own version of FAA legislation. NATCA President Paul Rinaldi and EVP Trish Gilbert, along with GA staff, continue to work closely with House and Senate committee staff to discuss NATCA's priorities fo r the FAA reauthorization bill.
