13 H O N O R A B L E M E N T I O N 'I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to repre- sent the men and women of this organization. The Archie League Awards are a reminder of the amazing things that the people I represent can accomplish. Having two winners of the award come from the Great Lakes Region is an honor for us. "I am very proud of Patrick Eberhart and what he was able to do on Jan. 3, 2007. His years of experience and great memory allowed for him to no-gyro vector a pilot towards Pontiac, a procedure he hadn't practiced in over 10 years. This is a true example of a vet- eran air traffic controller stepping up to the plate and going above and beyond what was required to help a pilot. What he and all the other winners did changed the lives of all people involved. I am honored to represent such a fine controller."
