PUBLIC SERVICE RECOGNITION WEEK : President Obama has issued a presidential proclamation designating this week, May 1 - 7 , as Public Service Recognition Week. In addition to thanking federal employees for the work they do for the country, the President is also directing the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to "ban the box" on federal employment applications, meaning that people could still apply for most federal jobs even if they have a criminal record. OPM recently issued a proposed rule on this effort in the Federal Register. To view the proclamation, click here . COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT FOUNDATIONS OF PROFESSIONALISM : Fully Charged: Last week, we unveiled the newest Fully Charged Short in our series of videos. "We're a family, and we have to look out for one another," said Chicago Center FacRep Toby Hauck in the new short where NATCA members discuss how to handle conversations about fatigue at work .
