QUICK REFERENCE Six-year long efforts in Congress to balance the federal budget have included cuts to federal employees' pay and benefits. Current situation includes House F Y17 budget resolution that continues attack on federal employees. The vast majority of attacks on federal employees are meant to save money. They all result in reduced take-home pay. HOW THIS ISSUE AFFECTS NATCA MEMBERS: The vast majority of attacks on federal employees are meant to save money, in the form of cutting federal employees' pay and benefits. No matter what the issue – increased health care contributions, increased pension contributions, "high three" to "high five" calculations – all result in reduced take-home pay for federal employees.
