Whether or not a meeting is requested to present the grievance. If requested by the moving Party, the responding Party shall promptly arrange for a meeting in person, by telephone or via Video Teleconference (VTC), to occur no later than ten (10) calendar days following the dat e the grievance was received. A written response will be given to the moving Party within ten (10) calendar days after the meeting has taken place. These timelines may be extended by mutual agreement of the Parties. Step 2. If no meeting was requested, t he responding Party shall respond to the grievance in writing within twenty (20 ) calendar days following the date the grievance was received. If the moving Party is not satisfied with the response and desires the matter to be submitted to Arbitration, the y shall so advise the responding Party in writing within twenty (20) calendar days following receipt of the response or the date the response was due. Section 10. Failure of the grievant to proceed with a grievance within any of the time specified in th is procedure shall render the grievance void or settled on the basis of the last decision rendered, unless the Parties have agreed to an extension of the time limits. Failure to render a decision within the time limits specified in this procedure shall en title the grievant to elevate the grievance to the next step without a decision, unless the Parties have agreed to an extension of the time limits. ARTICLE 9 ARBITRATION PROCEDURE Section 1. If the final decision on a grievance processed under Article 8 is not acceptable or the Parties are unable to resolve the dispute, the grievance can be submitted to arbitration.
