COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT COLLABORATION WITH THE FAA ON POSITIVE PRESS EVENTS SFO : NA TCA was proud to join the Federal Aviation Administration and local officials on Oct. 11 at a dedication ceremony for the new tower at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) . NATCA Western Pacific Region Alternate Regional Vice President Jerry Johnston, U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx, FAA Administrator Michael Huerta, San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee and Airport Director Ivar C. Satero all gave remarks at the ceremony. Read more about the ceremony and the new facil ity, in the FAA ' s press release . LAS AND L30: NATCA Executive Vice President Trish Gilbert joined Huerta, Sena tor Harry Reid, D - Nev., and others on Oct. 17 at an event to officially open the new tower and TRACON at Las Vegas - McCarran Airport. More on this in next week's update. MYR : We are now working with the FAA to hold a press event on Oct. 26 to tell the stor y of the successful installation of STARS at Myrtle Beach as part of the TAMR program that continues to mark new and exciting milestones for the collaborative relationship between NATCA and the FAA in modernizing the NAS. Southern Region Alternate Vice Pre sident Jason Arnold will represent NATCA at the event.
