The space they are moving into will have a similar orientation, and they will remain in 8x8 cubicles with a work room and work table. At this time, NATCA does not have any concerns over the proposed relocation, and the move will occur as soon as NATCA and the FAA have completed bargaining over the issue. BRIEFING REQUESTS On Oct. 26, 2016, NATCA requested a briefing on the Agency's organizational changes to ALO line of business. We are currently waiting for a response from the Agency regarding our request. POCs: Labor Relations Attorney Suzanne DeFelice and Labor Relations Coordinator Kendal Manson. On Oct. 25, 2016, NATCA requested a briefing on FAA Order 7033.xxx Oceanic Separation Reduction Work Group (OSRWG). We are currently waiting for a response from the Agency regarding our request. POCs: Labor Relations Attorney Suzanne DeFelice, Labor Relations Attorney Grant Mulkey, and Labor Relations Coordinator Kendal Manson. SURVEYS NATCA recommends participation in the Part 23 Survey. GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT CONGRESSIONAL SCHEDULE Both the House and Senate are in recess through the November elections, and are scheduled to return to Washington, D.C. on Nov. 14. A lame duck session of Congress is expected to occur during November and December. BUSY LAME DUCK SESSION BRINGS ANOTHER SHUTDOWN THREAT A lame duck session of Congress describes the period between the November elections and the swearing in of the new Congress in January. During the lame duck, Congress will need to pass a government funding bill before the Dec. 9 deadline. Therefore, the focus surrounding the lame duck session will likely be around this funding bill. However, the focus of the lame duck also depends on which presidential nominee is elected, as well as the results of which party ends up controlling the Senate and how many seats the Democrats pick up in the House. As the Dec. 9 deadline approaches, we'll hear more about the possibility of a government shutdown. GA is working with members of Congress and staff to ensure they are aware of the negative impact a shutdown has on the NAS. DECEMBER FUNDING BILL
