I just got back from a great visit to EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, where I spent some time with ATO employees who were working at the annual event, and with our customers who were there to enjoy the show. I have attended before, and every year I am amazed by the remarkable exhibits and presentations, not to mention the air traffic operation itself. By the end of the show, controllers and technicians expect to have handled more than 17,000 flight operations from the OSH tower, tempora rily making it the busiest air traffic tower in the world. At the FAA hangar, a cadre of ATO employees works through the week to conduct safety and technical outreach to the more than half a million aviation enthusiasts in attendance.
