Letter to the editor printed in Newsday: New York Center member Dave Romano's letter to the editor discussing this issue of possible legislation affecting the SSA annuity that would worsen the staffing crisis was printed last Friday in Newsday, a Long Island publication. NEW FLYER PUSHES IMPORTANCE OF SAFETY REPORTING SYSTEM "When In Doubt, Fill It Out" The FAA and NATCA have introduced a new flyer emphasizing the importance of voluntary safety reporting programs. NATCA HOSTS MEDIA TRAINING CLASS AT NATIONAL PRESS CLUB : Last Thursday, NATCA Director of Public Affairs Thom Metzger, Director of Communications Doug Church and Senior Social Media Associate Meagan Roper conducted a m edia training class for 13 members at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C . Paul Rinaldi and Trish Gilbert welcomed the attendees and introduced them to the course. That was followed by discussions about effective media relations and how to communica te clear, concise messages, best social media practices, and also a visit and talk by veteran aviation reporter Alan Levin of Bloomberg. The participants then practiced their skills by doing on - camera interviews in the Press Club's television studio. MEM BER FOCUS OF THE WEEK: Matt Walters (SBN ) Skarphol was honored in May at NATCA in Washington with a Regional Legislative Award.
