COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT
SPEAKING OUT ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF PREVENT ING AN FAA
SHUTDOWN
We spoke out publicly and forcefully last week in calling for swift passage of an FAA
extension as the c lock ticked down to a Sept. 30 deadline. From our press release:
"NATCA is concerned that once again, the FAA authorization process has turned into a
game of political chicken. We must have a stable, predictable funding stream for the
FAA and its employee s to operate and maintain the safest, most efficient, most complex,
most diverse National Airspace System (NAS) in the world. " Read the full release .
We also worked with the NEB to put out two messages to the membership to detail the
situation and urge action through calling members of Congress to try and stop an FAA
shutdown.
