WINDOWS 10 UPGRADE On Oct. 25, 2017, the Agency briefed NATCA regarding an upcoming upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 for all Agency computers managed by the Office of Information Technology (AIT). The Agency anticipates upgrading AIT - managed computers to Windows 10 as early as January 2018 and completing t he transition by January 2020. The Windows 10 upgrade will include Internet Explorer 11, Chrome, and Edge as browsers and will support only the latest version of Java Run - Time Environment (JRE). Prior to deploying Windows 10, the Agency will develop a standard Windows 10 Baseline Image that meets its Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG). This is the version of Windows 10 that will be depl oyed to AIT - managed computers. The Agency will test existing applications a gainst this standard Windows 10 image to determine whether those applications are compatible, and will also identify any special hardware requirements needed for compatibility.
