stakeholders what we were doing but explaining why these changes were happening — such as how the constraints of an area's terrain, weather systems, air traffic and customers served factor into discussions w ith local airports. Our priority: explain what improved safety and efficiency means in Southern Cal, and utilize animated videos and other interactive multimedia tools to do it. The subject - matter experts — including controllers, technicians and managers w ho live in the area — engaged directly with folks affected by proposed changes, educating the public and elected officials while relating to them as neighbors. We're repeating this proactive, collaborative approach at dozens of Metroplex and single site PB N facilities across the NAS. Fuel savings, less pollution and fewer delays will come to metro areas like SoCal, and the surrounding communities will learn how these procedural changes and the resulting benefits positively impact them. While I personally wish to recognize the SoCal Metroplex Team, I want to also highlight their work as another example of what happens when ATO employees commit to engaging as a team. We couldn't have made the SoCal Metroplex a success without cooperation between service uni ts, management, labor and industry, and this type of collaboration will continue to guide our work at other Metroplex and single - site PBN facilities.
