AGENCY NOTICE TO EMPLOYEES REGARDING TESTING OF FOUR SYTHETIC
OPIOIDS
On Dec . 1, 2017, the Agency was expected to notify employees who occupy a Testing
De signated Position (TDP) of a change in the testing process to include four additional
drugs – hydrocodone, hydromorphone, oxycodone, and oxymorphone.
This change comports with the revised Department of Health and Human Services
(HHS) Mandatory Guidelines for Federal Drug Testing Programs. The FAA has indicated
the new screening will begin on Jan . 31, 2018. Additional updates will be provided as
they become available.

BRIEFING REQUESTS
On Dec . 1, 2017, NATCA requested a briefing on FAA Order IR 1500.70 - Validation
Travel and Per Diem Reimbursement Guidance (AIR). We are currently waiting for a
response from the Agency regarding our request.

On Nov . 28, 2017, NATCA requested a briefing on the ATO - AJT Reorganization. We are
currently in the process of scheduling this briefing.

On Nov . 20, 2017, NATCA requested a briefing on the Office of Budget and Programs
(ABP) Professional Development Program (PDP) . A briefing is scheduled with the
Agency for Dec . 5, 2017.
