The Dallas Morning News, Dec. 22, 2017: NATCA Dallas-Love Field ATCT member
Brian Kelly was interviewed and photographed for a great feel-good story about
Operation Airdrop. The group of North Texas pilots, which includes Brian, delivered
supplies in the hours, days, and weeks after Hurricane Harvey struck last fall. Operation
Airdrop now numbers over 300 pilots from 38 states. The idea behind the creation of the
group: use airplanes to take supplies to people stuck in areas not accessible by car.

MOST RECENT PRESS RELEASE – ACTING FAA ADMINISTRATOR
On Friday, Jan. 5, we issued a press statement supporting the announcement that
Federal Aviation Administration Deputy Administrator Dan Elwell will serve as Acting
FAA Administrator. "We are pleased that Dan will serve as Acting Administrator, and we
look forward to continuing to work with him," NATCA President Paul Rinaldi said. "We
agree with DOT Secretary Chao that this move ensures a seamless transition. Together,
NATCA and the FAA have built a successful collaborative relationship and transformed
the agency for the better. We are proud of our joint efforts that have enabled notable

NATCA reached users on social media 672,000 times in 31 days, as follower count
continued to grow in December. We started 2018 with 28,518 followers across all four
public NATCA platforms. NATCA's followers may have noticed a change in distribution
of our social media content. December marked a new selective distribution of messages
to specific profiles - including the presence of NATCA President Paul Rinaldi and
Executive Vice President Trish Gilbert on Facebook and Twitter.
