In addition to executive actions from President Trump, members of Congress have and
will continue to introduce anti-federal employee bills, including those that would attack
the use of official time and negatively impact federal employee pay and benefits.
H.R. 3303
On Thursday, March 15, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee
approved a bill to permit disabled air traffic controllers (as well as law enforcement
officers, customs and border protection officers, and firefighters, among other
professions) to receive retirement benefits in the same manner as if they had not been
disabled. The bill protects the financial security for air traffic controllers by allowing
disabled controllers to maintain their retirement status. H.R. 3303 now awaits
consideration on the House floor.
