of-life issues we have with our current IDSs in the field (IDS-4, ERIDS, etc.). The project is working towards finalizing requirements by the summer of this year, with a contract scheduled to be awarded in 2019. The Cadre/SME scoping agreement has not yet been finalized or signed nationally. NATCA National and FAA's AJT continue to work the scoping agreement. Positive resolution of the status of the document will allow us to move forward with the scheduling of a number of activities that require CADRE and SMEs. MITRE Tower and TRACON demos were conducted throughout the month. The En- Route demos concluded last. These demos provided participants with a notional design that they were able to manipulate, talk through, and provide feedback on. The data compiled will assist the E-IDS Team in finalizing any necessary engineering requirements and aid in upcoming Human Factors work. Human Factors workgroup meetings continued, starting with a preliminary hardware discussion. We also met as a smaller group to plan the scope of work once the Air Traffic CADRE is on board. Tech Ops/PASS plans were also discussed. This work is ongoing. A Safety Panel will be conducted to review the E-IDS program as a whole. Any hazards will be identified and worked through to find acceptable mitigations. The specifics are still being finalized, but the activity will most likely occur in September. A discussion was had based on En-Route training in the TTL, and the role the current ERIDS play vs. the role the future E-IDS will play. More information is needed re: current requirements in the training environment and whether or not additional engineering requirements will be needed in the E-IDS program. The appropriate entities at HQ are all being contacted to further the discussion. Upcoming activities: • Weekly/bi-weekly program status and engineering telcons (ongoing) • En-Route demo group work with MITRE (concluding this week) • Human Factors workgroups NATCA, FAA, and PASS (ongoing) • Training telcons (scheduled monthly – ongoing) • Weather and weather products telcon (scheduled end of May) • Travel to DC to participate in meetings and determine plans going forward (planned once per quarter) ENROUTE AUTOMATION WORKGROUP (ERAW): Julio Henriques (ZNY) leads the ERAW efforts for NATCA. Rex Jackson (ZDC) provides this update. Five FTRs participated in the development of DataComm Field Validation (DFV) checklist to prepare for the initial turn-on of CPDLC at ZID in mid-June. The team worked with the DataComm group and the final document was approved through the SRM process.
