SAFETY AND TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT Week of Feb. 25, 2019 Update ENROUTE AUTOMATION WORKGROUP (ERAW) Julio Henriques (ZNY) leads the ERAW efforts. Rex Jackson (ZDC) provided the update below: Due to a critical issue with PDRR (Pre-Departure Re-Route), it was collaboratively decided to turn off the functionality until a fix can be delivered. The issue could result in the pilot receiving a route of flight that was not the same as the route that was processed and displayed to the controller. The National User Team developed and agreed to ER196440 as a temporary ERAM solution until TFMS can deliver software with the final solution. ER196440 will be delivered in the EAE200 ERAM 2019 summer release. The Facility Tech Reps have been coordinating with their sites to uplevel to the EAE130 ERAM release in support of better DataComm functionality for the keysites. For the enhanced CPDLC timers to be "turned on" it requires all sites to be operational on the release. This task would have been completed no later than Feb. 8, 2019, but due to the government shutdown, that was not possible. Seven sites have completed the task and the remaining 13 sites are TBD. The FTRs attended the National User Team (NUT) meeting the week of Dec. 10 th , 2018. The team received briefings on the following programs: • DataComm – The DataComm team briefed on several issues including the current status of the system, an updated DFV waterfall checklist, a DFV site-briefing template, updates to several use cases and how the aircraft trajectory affects TOC behavior. Harris briefed on the known avionics' issues, potential solutions, and projected delivery dates. Additionally, Harris provided information and potential dates for ARINC and SITA infrastructure fixes. • EAE200 Release Briefing – The team was briefed on the functional changes coming in the EAE200 release. The changes include tech refresh for the radar position, electronic horse collars, DataComm changes, and the ERAM half of the TFMS remarks capability. • EAE210 Release Briefing – The team was briefed on the alternate display path functionality being delivered into EAE210. The new function will provide a path for the radar display from either the AIX or LINUX processors, should there be an issue as sites transition to the new LINUX R-side processors. • DataComm Keysite Briefings – The DataComm keysites ZID, ZKC, and ZME delivered briefings on their experiences so far with DataComm training and DFV testing. There briefings were provided to the team as a reference to assist the remaining waterfall sites in developing facility plans.
