RUNWAY SAFETY Bridget Singratanakul (Gee) (DFW) is NATCA's Runway Safety Action Team (RSAT) Representative. She also serves as the Article 114 Representative to the Runway Status Lights (RWSL) Program. Her report is below: Runway Status Lights (RWSL) • ORD is being conducted in three phases: o Phase 1, Runway 10L/28R, was turned online April 27, 2016. o Phase 2 (10C Enhancement) – IOC (Initial Operating Capability) was completed on May 3, 2018. A pre-JAI meeting held the week of June 11, 2018 and JAI was achieved on July 13, 2018. o Phase 3 (9R Enhancement) – CDA Construction is scheduled to begin March 19, and end June 18. Shelter was delivered on March 1. RWSL checkout/SAT/IOC is targeted for Aug. 19, and JAI Rwy 9R is scheduled for Sept. 19. • BOS: o Phase 2: Lighting computer was replaced. JAI is scheduled for August 2019 at BOS and September 2019 for ORD. o Phase 4: Frequency optimization, checkout, and SAT are scheduled to be completed by May 24. JAI is planned for June 30. • DFW: o IOC for the west side of the complex happened March 22, 2018. Rwy 17R IOC was on Feb. 28, 2019. Rwy 17R JAI is scheduled for April 30 or May 31, if separate from Wry 17C. The construction for Wry 17C is ongoing. Shadow operations are scheduled for March 19, however due to the runway not being reopened yet they may be delayed another week or two. • San Diego: o Checkout and SAT are happening on March 25. JAI is scheduled for May 1.
