On March 21 an NWP Program Management Review (PMR) was held. The FAA has changed leadership on the project and the new manager has continued to point out the issues that Common Support Services (CSS)-wx has in delivering the data required to run the AWD. The new manager has indicated that the program may be two years away from deployment due to delays in CSS-wx being developed by Harris. He has given Harris a deadline of September to decide how to move forward from here. The Human Factors Work Group (HFWG) continues to meet weekly with the staff at Raytheon to finish build six. Upon the completion of build six, Raytheon will begin build seven. The HFWG is making significant progress and we look forward to gaining feedback from the user evaluations this summer. The last AWD site surveys were conducted in the Chicago/Milwaukee-area facilities on March 25-29. Due to the delays in CSS-wx, the site surveys that were being conducted to determine where the new equipment will be positioned in facilities has been temporarily suspended. At this point, it is unknown when the site surveys will continue. Terminal Weather Operation Needs Assessment (ONA) Meetings continue to be held to discuss current issues with ASR weather displays in terminal facilities. I have solicited and passed on numerous cases where terminal facilities display significant anomalous propagation (AP) during the early morning hours. The group is looking into ways to improve the current terminal weather on the glass. Schedule • April 10-11, WARP Program Management Review (PMR) • April 16-17, Friends and Partners in Aviation Weather
