NATCA Academy OSHA/OWCP Class - CJ Jacques and Karena Marinas will be joining Jason Grider in facilitating the OSHA/OWCP NATCA Academy class in Las Vegas in November. New class dates have been added for 2020: April 28-29 and Oct. 14-15. Be sure to have your OSHA reps sign up. ECOMP - NATCA has discussed this issue with the FAA. From Nicole Vitale: "We reaffirmed that the Agency has not completed implementation bargaining with NATCA and that NATCA BUEs cannot be required to use E-COMP, though they may do so by their own election. "The Agency will send a reminder to managers that they cannot require NATCA BUEs to use E-COMP to fill out the CA-1 or the OSHA 301 form. The email will reiterate that managers are responsible for filling out the OSHA form." As it stands now, if a BUE wishes to file a claim through E-COMP, they must fill out the 301 form before being allowed to proceed in the system. According to the National Office, if a BUE doesn't want to fill out the 301 form, they should not use E-COMP. National OSHECCOM - Karena Marinas, OSHECCOM Vice Chair, along with the National Chair, briefed the Administrator's Senior Advisor on the last two National OSHECCOM meetings. *The actual language as noted in paragraph 7.a.(2) of the OSHECCOM Charter: "The National Committee shall brief the FAA Management Board after each meeting. The briefing will be made by the Chairperson and the Designated Agency Safety and Health Official (DASHO), and/or their designees. A request to get on the FAA Management Board's schedule at the earliest availability must be made within two weeks of the meeting." The following was included in the briefing: • New DASHO: Jeffrey S.
