Vehicle ADS-B: • 1564 vehicles equipped at 23 airports. • We anticipate growth in this program as it not only increases controller situational awareness, but also aids in prevention of runway incursions and collision avoidance. • DCA and IAD vehicle transmit maps have been approved by both facilities and now move on for final approval. October 14-20, 2019 Update ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES & OCEANIC PROCEDURES (ATOP) John Lenhart (ZOA) is the Article 114 Rep for ATOP. His report is below: ATOP TR2 - Tech Refresh has been successful to date at ZAN and ZNY, with the exception of a problem with the keyboard and mouse wiring. The current wiring does not fit as before and gets in the way of the VSCS. A fix is being created. ZOA TR2 schedule is being pushed left to the beginning of January. SBA Concept Meeting - The ATOP and SBA programs met the week of Oct. 8 to kick off the SBA oceanic concept meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to bring together appropriate stakeholders to develop current and future state concepts of operations to utilize spaced-based ADS-B in the oceanic environment during the near- and long-term. The workgroup's intent is to develop the above for inclusion in a white paper briefing to senior management. Objectives: • Discuss near-term activities on ATOP in the ocean using SBA and populate the below matrix with options. • Develop near-term recommendations with timeframes. • Translate these to long-term concepts, comms, automation system, route structure changes, and policy changes. Concepts Worked: • ATOP SBA Ingest and Process. • SBA Supported 20 Longitudinal ADS-C Standard. • SBA Supported Oceanic WX Deviations. • SBA Climb Through Procedure. • SBA Reduced Crossing Traffic Time Based Standard. • Bermuda SBA Surveillance with VHF Coverage. The programs are putting together these items with the intent of briefing leadership. Current ATOP FDN Items: • 56196: Enhanced Trial Probe for OOC Position Reports (CHI demonstration). • 50981: Need a way to enter CPDLC reported PIREPs.
