Baby Shark Doo-Doo-Doo-Doo-Doo-Doo: Coalescing Around Common Goals
Hi everyone,
It's been heartwarming to see the Washington Nationals' turnaround in baseball, and a
lot of people are attributing it to the World Series contenders finally gelling with one
another after a lackluster start to the season. The players have even connected over a
catchy children's song called "Baby Shark," and the fans have joined right in alongside
them, making varying shark gestures to signal whether someone has hit a single,
double or triple.
The Nats are a great example of what we're capable of if we coalesce behind common
goals with our colleagues and our stakeholders. We're better when we work together
with both internal and external stakeholders, and that's why I work to connect with both
as much as my schedule allows. In a large organization with an array of responsibilities,
it's important to talk about priorities and challenges, and strategies for achieving our
goals.
I've made several facility visits lately. Today, I'm at the Western Service Center in
Seattle, where the Mission Support Services team provides important shared services
and other expertise to much of the western United States. The center also hosts
employees from several of our service units including the Program Management
