RUNWAY SAFETY Bridget Singratanakul (Gee) (DFW) is NATCA's Runway Safety Action Team (RSAT) Rep. She also serves as the Article 114 Rep to the Runway Status Lights (RWSL) Program. Her report is below: Runway Status Lights (RWSL) - • ORD: Being conducted in three phases: o Phase 1, Runway 10L/28R, was turned online April 27, 2016. o Phase 2, 10C Enhancement, IOC (Initial Operating Capability) was completed on May 3, 2018. Pre-JAI meeting was held the week of June 11, 2018. JAI was achieved July 13, 2018. o Phase 3, 9R Enhancement, It now appears that the testing of the required software update will not be completed in December of this year. Projected timeframe to turn on is January 2020. • BOS: Completed. • DFW: Completed. • CLT: Currently, we are working in the RWSL PMO with Air Traffic and CLT Airport on a preliminary plan for RWSL lighting on 18L. Runway Safety - ASDE-X Taxiway Arrival Prediction (ATAP) - The following locations currently have ATAP running: SEA, ATL, BDL, PHL, CLT, DFW, STL, MCO, IAH, DTW, LAX, ORD, and SAN. Work is ongoing as the national workgroup works towards evaluating all ASDE-X sites for the enhancement. The hope is to be completed by the end of 2020. Surface Safety Group (SSG) - The SSG met on Oct. 29-30. At this meeting, we received updates from the three subgroups: Data Analysis Team, SSIT, and Outreach/Education. These subgroups meet regularly in order to discuss each action item and updates on the work being conducted. I am very proud of the work collaboratively being conducted by industry and the Agency during these meetings. NBAA Wrong Surface Podcast - My counterpart and I participated in a Wrong Surface podcast for the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA). The podcast and additional wrong surface handouts that NATCA has produced will be posted publicly. AJI Human Performance Taxonomy Workgroup - A workgroup was collaboratively developed through AJI and NATCA to develop an HP taxonomy that can be utilized across safety programs within the five organizations. Work is currently ongoing and the workgroup has now met on two occasions. ALM JSAIT - Aviation Safety Information Analysis and Sharing (ASIAS)/Commercial Aviation Safety Team) ALM JSAIT is a workgroup with the objective to understand the frequency of approach and landing misalignments across the NAS, and the factors leading to these events. The workgroup has had several meetings, and I anticipate mitigations being developed shortly. WEATHER Eric Avila (ZHU) is NATCA's Article 114 Rep for Weather. His report is below: NextGen Weather Processor/Aviation Weather Display (AWD) - Raytheon is finishing work on National Weather Service (NWS) products on the AWD. The Human Factors Work Group (HFWG) began work on the overlay's menu. The plan moving forward is to update the AWD
