The ATO Glitter Turned to Gold
Hi everyone,
It's easy to get caught in the day-to-day churn of our jobs and forget to notice the real difference
we're making to the agency and the traveling public. But this week, we got a treasure trove of
reminders when we honored the FAA recipients of the Department of Transportation's annual
awards.
The work of several individuals and teams across the agency rose to the level of recognition by
Secretary Elaine Chao, and I want to congratulate everyone from Aviation Safety, Airports,
Finance, Policy, NextGen, and Security and Hazardous Materials Safety, as well as our
colleagues from the ATO.
The secretary reserved a special commendation for one of our ATO teams. She presented her
highest honor, the Gold Medal Award, to our System Operations Security Team. Members
include Brian Throop, Gary Miller, Robert Sweet and the now retired George Bebble, and we
know a lot of people support them!
