Ross Costa, NATCA TAMR Training Lead: Mr. Costa (RSW) traveled to Fullerton, Calif., in late October with Kyle Ness to review Raytheon's course material for R8. The group met to review all of the new material, practicals, and tests for the CBI. During the review, the group looked for errors, consistency with the Technical Instruction manuals, and ensured the CBI was working as designed. The group captured a number of items that were changed to ensure the material met the appropriate standards. Mr. Costa then traveled to FAA Tech Center in Atlantic City, N.J., for the first week of testing for S6R9D4. The testing group included lead Jason Rose (D01), Jim VanZee (GRR), Nathan Taylor (A80), and Anthony Loguidice (ABE). We reviewed the drop along with other test items to certify that the software is working as designed and intended. Finally, Mr. Costa has been attending weekly telcons for an app being created for the training iPads. Currently, the app is being developed for En route keyboard functions first. As it moves forward, there will be a terminal application developed.
