NATCA NATIONAL OFFICE DEPARTMENTAL UPDATE November 18-December 22, 2019 LABOR RELATIONS DEPARTMENT FAA BRIEFING ON NEW EMPLOYEE ID VERIFICATION PROCEDURES RELATED TO BOC On Nov. 14, the Agency sent notification that as of Jan. 2, the Benefits Operations Center (BOC) will be asking FAA employees who call for assistance to authenticate their identity by providing the last four digits of their Social Security number, and their date of birth. NATCA requested a briefing, which was held on Dec. 6. The BOC human resource case management (HRCM) system has been integrated with data from the Federal Personnel and Payroll System (FPPS). This change will allow those taking calls at the BOC to look at benefit enrollment and retirement information all through the same system, and also allows the BOC to more effectively authenticate identification for employees who call – beginning on Jan. 2, the BOC will ask for the SSN and DOB of each caller. The Agency has been sending messages to BUEs since Dec. 17. POCs: Curt Howe, Mike MacDonald, and Labor Relations Attorney Suzanne DeFelice. FAA BRIEFING ON ORACLE PRIMAVERA P6 SCHEDULE APPLICATION PILOT PROGRAM On Oct. 21, the Agency sent notification that it intended to launch the Oracle Primavera P6 Schedule Application Pilot Program. NATCA requested a briefing, which was held on Dec. 2. The program, known as CWP Primavera, or P6, is a project management and scheduling tool used to track and manage project implementation schedules and resource requirements. Under the program, users will be able to view and "status" activities through Team Member, a module within P6 that the Agency explained will provide individuals the ability to identify and provide status updates on their assigned projects and activities. The Agency explained that engineers in Engineering Services will use the tool for two purposes: (1) to provide scheduled updates, and (2) to provide activity status updates. The Agency intends to conduct a three-month pilot program in the Terminal groups in each service area from now through April 6. Engineering Service engineers will provide schedule status using P6 Team Member for the projects and activities they are currently assigned to. The Agency said it would run training sessions for a few weeks at the start of 2020 in all nine regional offices, and these sessions would be conducted by Program Office and National Engineering Support employees. NATCA does not anticipate submitting proposals on this issue. POCs: Curt Howe, Mike MacDonald, Deputy Director of Safety and Technology Mark McKelligan, and Labor Relations Attorney Suzanne DeFelice.
