The recipients of this evening's Archie League
Medal of Safety and Region X Commitment
to Safety Awards were first nominated by their
fellow NATCA members — Union brothers and
sisters who witnessed their exceptional work and
believed it deserved recognition. That peer-driven
nomination process reflects the deep respect and
solidarity within our Union.
The National Safety Committee (NSC), led by
Chair John Murdock (Philadelphia ATCT, PHL),
gathered supporting materials and conducted
the initial review. A panel of NATCA members
then carefully evaluated each nomination and
recommended recipients from each region. NATCA
President Nick Daniels made the final selections
from the panel's recommendations.
In 2026, the selection panel included Air Traffic
Safety Action Program (ATSAP) Committee
member Al Arcese (Civil Engineer New England
Region, ENE), National Training Representative
Jamaal Haltom (Las Vegas ATCT, LAS), National
Standards and Procedures Representative Ben
Latimer (Charlotte ATCT, CLT), Air Safety
Investigations Committee Vice Chair Kristen
McTee (Kansas City ATCT, MCI), Western
Service Area Safety Representative Sam Navarro
(Seattle-Tacoma ATCT, SEA), Volunteer Safety
Reporting Programs Representative Cher Oxenburg
(Atlanta Center, ZTL), Southwest Regional
Safety Representative Aaron Pickett (Albuquerque
Center, ZAB), and National Partnership for Safety
Representative Mike Taylor (Columbus ATCT,
CMH). NSC Chair John Murdock presided over
the panel.
