Harrisburg (MDT): The collaborative FAA - NATCA press event on Oct. 20 to
promote the successful installation of Terminal Automation and Modernization
Replacement at MDT was a big success . NATCA FacRep Phil Gesumaria along with
Chris Falcone, who was instrumental in the project, are leading our local media efforts
and we helped them with talking points and also general media relations guidance. Our
main message is that collaboration between labor and management on all levels of the
project was the reason for a seamless transition from the old equipment to the new.
A dditionally, NATCA is proud of the professionalism and dedication of the controllers at
this facility who not only learned the new system, but also did it while maintaining the

Remote Towers – Leesburg, Va.: As detailed in our NextGen Now
modernization update e - book, and also in each week's Safety and Technology update in
th is report, NATCA is a part of a collaborative effort at Leesburg, Va., to safely and
effectively install and test new remote tower technology developed by Saab. Last week,
we worked with Saab to prepare for a press conference they hosted on Oct. 26, which
included NATCA President Paul Rinaldi as a speaker. Paul was also interviewed
