As you know, the Global Leadership Initiative is one of FAA's strategic initiatives to transform how we prioritize and target resources to engage with the international aviation community. We're using data to determine where we can make the most difference. Even though countries are more connected than ever thanks to technological advancements, the reality is that it's still a big world. Through our international partnerships, we're exchanging information and best practices to make air travel more seamless throughout the world. Through the FAA's Caribbean Initiative, we're working with our partners in region and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to enhance safety and improve efficiency of travel to one of the world's most popular destinations. Each year, more than 7 million passengers fly from the United States to the Caribbean. We also expect air traffic to grow as much as five to six percent in this region over the next two decades. This summer, the Department of Transportation authorized U.S. scheduled commercial flights to Havana as well as nine Cuban airports outside of Havana. So, our interest in this region is critical. Last week, we hosted a roundtable discussion where Administrator Huerta outlined the Caribbean Initiative with media and international partners. Representatives from the embassies of Cuba, Bahamas and Jamaica attended as well as media from Florida and the Caribbean. This week, FAA representatives participated in the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association Airline Leaders Forum in Mexico City. They
