NATCA NATIONAL OFFICE DEPARTMENTAL WEEK IN REVIEW January 7 - 13 , 2017 LABOR RELATIONS DEPARTMENT NATCA RECEIVES BRIEFING ON THE RETENTION OF BUE TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION RECORDS IN CEDAR On Oct. 6, 2016, NATCA requested a briefing on the FAA's plan to utilize the Comprehensive Electronic Data Analysis and Reporting (CEDAR) system for the retention of BUE training and facility certification re cords in an electronic format. On Jan. 18, 2017, NATCA received a full briefing and learned about the current fun ctionalities for CEDAR, including the retention of certain training and certification records at a limited number of facilities. NATCA also learned about the FAA's efforts to develop and deploy a CEDAR Employee Training Management (CETM) solution, which t o date has been in conjunction and collaboration with NATCA. Based on this information, NATCA's POCs are currently considering what next steps may be necessary. On Ja n. 18, 2017, NATCA requested a briefing on FAA Order 8110.105A, Simple and Complex Electronic Hardware Approval Guidance.
