Morning News as a good story to tell – they had requested such a story idea about air
traffic control. The event was a good save at Addison Tower in which our FacRep Marc
Gough was involved. An excerpt from the story:
" Air traffic controller and pilot work as distant teammates, riveted on the most
critical element of aviation: safety.
" From land to air to land, it's a lifeline that goes overlooked. Without teamwork
and pinpoint awareness at both ends, disaster can unfold in a blink.
" In the tower, controllers juggle the timing of takeoffs and landings and a rushing
stream of communication. In the cockpit, pilots multitask on fli ght instruments and
navigation skills.
" On this sunny, perfect - for - flying day in late September, the airport's busy, the
radio chatter brisk. "
